Normally, England would receive four Champions League places, two for the Europa League and one in the Conference League play-off stage - so seven in total.

Next season, they are already guaranteed to have five places due to the federation's UEFA coefficient average. There could be a sixth team in the Champions League if United or Tottenham win the Europa League.

Both players are sat in the bottom half of the Premier League meaning becoming champions in Europe's second competition will see them join the top five in the Champions League next season.

So it means that, if everything falls into place, Fulham (through their seventh-placed position) will join Palace (through their FA Cup win) and Chelsea (as Conference League winners) in the Europa League.

Finally, the Conference League spot sits with Newcastle United for their Carabao Cup success. However, should Eddie Howe's side upgrade to the Champions League or Europa League through the Premier League, the place in the Conference League would fall to the leading team in the league not already qualified for the Champions League or Europa League.

That would give Brighton, the team in ninth, a spot in the Conference League as the highest non-qualified team.
