England reached the final of Euro 2025 after a dramatic 2-1 win over Italy after extra time.
The Lionessesfound themselves trailing at half-time due to lax defending from Sarina Wiegman's team, allowing Barbara Bonansea to strike the ball into the net from close quarters. Alessia Russo had England's best opportunity in the first 45 with a low, sharp shot that narrowly missed the mark, but Italy were rightly leading at half-time.
Wiegman's side started the second half with renewed vigour as Beth Mead replaced Lauren James at half-time. However, in reality, Italy's goalkeeper Laura Giuliani was never truly challenged until a stunning equaliser from another substitute, Michelle Agyemang, in stoppage time forced her to retrieve the ball from the back of the net.

Neither side could then be separated for much of the 30 minutes of extra time before the Lionesses were awarded a penalty late on. Chloe Kelly missed the resulting spot-kick, but followed in on the rebound to send England through.
And the Lionesses will now go onto face either Germany or Spain in the final at St. Jakob-Park,Basel on Sunday, July 27 (5pm kick-off UK time). The second semi-final will be played on Wednesday, July 23 in Zurich (kick-off 8pm).
"It's unbelievable," England match winner Chloe Kelly told ITV Sport post-match. "Such a great feeling, this team deserve nothing but that. Three finals on the bounce but we want more. It's an unbelievable feeling.
"It wasn't supposed to go like that, the penalty, but I was just ready for the rebound! I was confident but the keeper did her homework.
"We keep practicing our penalties and luckily I got there for the tap-in."
She added: "Big Mich [Agyemang] at it again! She should've scored again with that other one that hit the crossbar.
"She's an unbelievable player. She's got the world at her feet, she's a young player with a bright future and I'm absolutely buzzing for her.
"This team fights back, we have that resilience... but hopefully we can make it a bit easier for ourselves in the final!"
