New GST Rates: From needles to diapers and water to ACs, hundreds of things will become cheaper from the first day of Navratri..

Following the GST rate cut, new tax rates will come into effect today. Starting today, GST rates will be reduced, making many items cheaper for the public. September 22nd is the first day of Navratri this year, and starting that day, people will benefit from cheaper products.

Earlier this month, the GST Council decided to cut tax rates, establishing two slabs of 5 percent and 18 percent. Another 40 percent slab has been created for "sin goods." The good news is that many companies have already announced price reductions on their products. Find out what will become cheaper starting tonight and how much.

Home appliances, including ACs, refrigerators, and washing machines
Major home appliance manufacturers have reduced air conditioner prices by up to ₹4,500 and dishwasher prices by up to ₹8,000. The new rates will be effective from Monday.

Godrej Appliances


Panasonic
Haier

These companies are expecting double-digit sales growth during the festive season, which begins this week. Dishwasher manufacturers have also cut prices, passing on the GST benefits to consumers. Following the implementation of the GST reduction, companies have reduced prices by up to ₹8,000.

Dairy products will also become cheaper.
Dairy brands Amul and Mother Dairy have announced reductions in retail prices of over 700 products, including ghee, butter, ice cream, bakery products, and frozen snacks. Both companies have decided to pass on the benefits of the GST rate reduction to consumers.

Amul has reduced prices on products such as butter, ghee, UHT milk, ice cream, cheese, chocolate, bakery range, frozen dairy and potato snacks, condensed milk, peanut spread, malt-based beverages, and more. The MRP of butter (100 grams) has been reduced from ₹62 to ₹58. Ghee prices have been reduced by ₹40 to ₹610 per liter.

The MRP of Amul processed cheese block (1 kg) has been reduced by ₹30 to ₹545 per kg. The new MRP of frozen paneer (200 grams) will be ₹95 from ₹99 currently, effective September 22.

What Mother Dairy has reduced:
Mother Dairy has reduced the prices of key dairy products such as UHT milk, paneer, ghee, butter, cheese, and milkshakes, reducing GST from 5-18% to 0-5%, depending on the product. For example, 1 liter of UHT milk (tetra pack) has now been reduced from ₹77 to ₹75, while 500 grams of butter has been reduced from ₹305 to ₹285.

Mother Dairy ice cream and successfully processed food items have also become cheaper. Ice creams like Choco Vanilla Cone and Kesar Pista Kulfi have become cheaper by ₹5-10, while the prices of successful products like Frozen French Fries, Aloo Tikki, and packaged Coconut Water have decreased by ₹5 to ₹15.

Packaged Water
The Ministry of Railways announced a reduction in the MRP of packaged water, Rail Neer. According to a circular issued by the Railway Board, the price of a one-liter bottle of Rail Neer has been reduced from ₹15 to ₹14, while the price of a 500 ml bottle has been reduced from ₹10 to ₹9.

These new prices will also apply to select packaged drinking water bottles sold on railway premises and in trains. Other packaged drinking water companies are expected to follow suit.
