Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 27 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitendra (Jitu) Patwari announced that his party will launch a public awareness program in Gwalior as part of a state-level campaign to "save Constitution" on April 28.
Patwari stated that Congress will go door-to-door and administer the oath of the Indian Constitution.
"A public awareness program is starting in Gwalior from tomorrow, April 28, on the state-level campaign to save the Constitution. The Congress Party is running this campaign across the country. We will go door-to-door and administer the oath of the Constitution. This is the effort of that patriotic political party which has liberated this country. This is the effort of that political ideology which created the Constitution," Jitu Patwari told ANI.
Earlier, Patwari expressed grief over the casualties in the Pahalgam terror attack, saying the terrorists have attacked the soul of this country. He added that 140 crore people in the country were demanding that the government take strict steps.
"The terrorists have not only killed the people but have also attacked the soul of this country. Rahul Gandhi has said that we are with the government in every decision. 140 crore people demand that the government should take strict steps and take whatever decision it deems appropriate," Patwari told reporters here.
Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said that all opposition parties condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam during an all-party meeting and offered full support to the government in taking any necessary action.
The terror attack on April 22 in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam targeted tourists, killing 26 people, including one Nepalese national. The victims were gunned down near Baisaran Meadow, a popular tourist destination in the region. This attack marks one of the deadliest in the region since the 2019 Pulwama attack, which resulted in the deaths of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans. (ANI)
