The encounter between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on Friday night witnessed a powerful six from Suryakumar Yadav resulted in an unfortunate incident where a ball girl was hit on the chest at the boundary.
The incident occurred in the fifth over of MI's chase, with Avesh Khan bowling to Suryakumar, who had just two runs off his first six balls. On the final delivery of the over, Avesh bowled a back-of-length ball outside off, and walked across the crease before smashing the ball over deep square leg for a six. Unfortunately, the ball hit a girl positioned near the boundary rope as she attempted to catch it. However, the girl seemed fine and handed the ball back to the LSG fielder.

Meanwhile, the game began with the visitors opting to bowl first after winning the toss. Hardik Pandya and his men managed to restrict LSG to 203/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Mitchell Marsh hammered the MI bowlers with his 60 off 31 balls, followed by a 53 from Aiden Markram. Despite a solid top-order performance, it was which helped MI come back in the game.
In the chase, Mumbai lost openers Will Jacks and Ryan Rickelton cheaply. However, youngster Naman Dhir kept the scoreboard ticking with a quickfire 46 off 24 before falling in the ninth over. After that Suryakumar steadied the innings before accelerating in his style. However, in the end, Mumbai Indians could reach only 191/5, losing the game by 12 runs.
