Including fruits in your daily diet can offer a wide range of health benefits—from boosting digestion and detoxifying the body to improving organ function and enhancing overall well-being. Recognizing these benefits, spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has introduced the “30% diet challenge,” which encourages individuals to replace 30% of their daily meals with fruits. According to him, such a simple shift in diet can rejuvenate the body, delay signs of aging, and prevent illness.

Fruits are naturally rich in essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. They are also among the quickest foods to digest, allowing the body to efficiently absorb nutrients without putting stress on the digestive system. Sadhguru emphasizes that fruits nourish the body without generating toxins, making them an ideal dietary choice for those seeking vitality and long-term health. He explains that when we consume foods that digest easily and deliver maximum nourishment, our body’s energy is used for repair and rejuvenation rather than heavy digestion.

As part of his diet challenge, Sadhguru shared the story of a woman who suffered from multiple health conditions, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and thyroid issues. By simply incorporating one fruit—an orange—into her daily routine for 1008 consecutive days, she experienced a remarkable transformation. Today, he claims, she is not only healthier and free of these ailments but also feels and looks much younger than her actual age.

In a video posted on his Instagram, Sadhguru explained that improving dietary habits can greatly influence how youthful and energetic we feel. The 30% diet challenge, he says, is not just about looking younger but also about feeling light, active, and mentally sharp.

One user noted that this might explain why the body feels lighter and more refreshed on Ekadasi days. Another wondered if the concept could extend to using fruits like pumpkin in cooked dishes. A third user simply agreed wholeheartedly with the idea.

How to shift to a 30 % diet?
Adopting a diet with at least 30% fruit can be both simple and sustainable with a few mindful changes. Start your day with a bowl of fresh, seasonal fruits or blend them into a refreshing smoothie for a nutritious boost. Swap out packaged or fried snacks with easy-to-carry options like bananas, apples, or oranges. Prioritizing fruits that are in season not only ensures better taste but also higher nutritional value. To maximize benefits, consider eating fruits on an empty stomach, allowing the body to absorb their nutrients more efficiently and aid digestion naturally.
