There are many things and beliefs prevalent in society about Hanuman ji. Especially, some things related to women are said in which it is claimed that women should not touch Hanuman ji, or there are some limitations in worshipping him. A woman asked a question to Saint Premanand Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj of Bhajan Marg on this subject. After listening to his answer, everyone will not only get a solution but will also understand that the basis of true devotion is not rules but feelings.

A woman asked Maharaj ji if she could worship Hanuman ji? Since childhood, she has considered Hanuman ji as her brother, but recently, someone said that women should not touch Hanuman ji because he is celibate. On this, Premanand Maharaj answered very simply and with true feelings.
He said, “Look, all these things are related to the world of rules and siddhis. When someone worships as a form of power, there are some limitations. But if someone loves Hanuman ji as his beloved, then there is no restriction. Did Anjani Mata ever think that her son is a celibate, so she cannot touch him?”
Premanand ji said that if someone loves Hanuman ji with devotion as a brother, son, or God, then the identity of man or woman does not matter in it. He said, “You have just got this body, which is like a dress. Just like every department in the army has a different uniform, similarly, this body is. But from the inside, we are all one – parts of God.”
He further said that when we connect God with ourselves, then there are no limitations. If a woman worships Hanuman ji with love, feeds him, talks to him, then there is nothing wrong in it. All this is a matter of feelings, not rules.
Premanand Maharaj narrated an incident in which a devotee woman used to make Khichdi and offer it to the Lord every day. A saint objected that how can she offer food to God without taking a bath? But when the woman offered the food late, as per the rules, then God did not take that food, because it was not done with love, but under pressure. Maharaj said, "There are no rules in love. Love has its way, in which there is no fear, no conditions. When you believe in God with your feelings, then he also answers in the same way."
That is why he clarified that if a woman worships Hanuman ji with true love, true devotion, then it is completely right. Because that service or worship is not being done for any siddhi or benefit, but for love. Maharaj said, “We are not saying that you should go to the temple and offer oblations or break the rules. We are only saying that when you connect with Bhaav, there is no obstacle.”

He also explained that where there is Ram, there is Hanuman as well. And if someone says that women should not serve Hanuman ji, should they stop serving Ram ji? Because Hanuman ji is always with them in Ram Darbar. It is wrong to say that someone should be stopped from serving, especially when the feeling is true.
