Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, took a bumper opening at the box office and collected Rs. 65 crore on its day one. Despite the Independence Day holiday, the film showed a drop at the box office on its second day, and collected Rs. 54.75 crore, taking the two-day total to Rs. 119.75 crore. Now, on its day three, Saturday, the film is expected to show a huge drop.
As per early estimates, Coolie on its third day might collect around Rs. 30-35 crore, which will be nearly a drop of Rs. 19-20 crore. However, if there's a jump during the night shows, then the collection can be more than Rs. 35 crore. For now, we can expect the movie to collect around Rs. 150-160 crore at the box office in three days.
Coolie Budget
According to reports, Coolie is made on a budget of Rs. 350 crore. So, a collection of Rs. 150-160 crore in three days is not a bad number. However, the film needs to be stable at the box office in the coming days.
It will be interesting to see whether, after a drop on Saturday, Coolie will show a jump at the box office on Sunday or not.
