A tragic incident occurred in the West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand, where two soldiers were seriously injured after stepping on an IED planted by Naxalites in Chaibasa. The soldiers were immediately airlifted to Raj Hospital in Ranchi, where doctors declared one soldier dead, and the other’s condition remains critical. He is currently receiving treatment in the Special Care Unit.
Jharkhand's DGP, Chandan Kumar Sinha, confirmed the identity of the martyred soldier as Sunil Dhan, a member of Jharkhand Jaguar. The injured soldier, Vishnu Saini of the Cobra Battalion, is still in a critical state and is under close medical supervision. Following the attack, a combing operation was launched in the region to search for the Naxalites responsible.
In an ongoing effort to combat Naxalism, a special operation is being conducted across Jharkhand, with a focus on West Singhbhum. The security squad, which was patrolling the forested and hilly areas near the Chhota Nagara and Jharaikela police stations, came in contact with the IED. Authorities have cordoned off the entire area, and intensive search operations are underway.
A wreath-laying ceremony will be held on Sunday at the Jaguar Headquarters in Tender Village, Ranchi, to honor the sacrifice of Constable Sunil Dhan, who lost his life in this attack.
