He has long been and has been Eamonn had shared a snap from inside an ambulance as he was rushed to get medical attention. The former host then posted an update from his hospital bed. He told fans: "An unexpected journey this morning ….. bit of a fall on the bathroom floor. Gosh it hurts. Thank you Ambulance crew."

Eamonn later admitted: "Not how I wanted to be spending The Holiday weekend but life’s not easy these days." He was flooded with support from his followers as they wished him a speedy recovery.

However, one follower wasn't so supportive as they said: "Eamonn your falling apart since you done the dirt on @ruthlangsford."

It wasn't long before the GB News presenter hit back as Eamonn quipped: "Says the man whose profile reads 'Be kind and be Nice'."

His fans also rushed to defend the star as one added: "No need to say anything at all about Ruth!" Another commented: "You need to change your bio, you obviously don’t know the meaning of kindness or nice."

Someone else wrote: "What a stupid comment you no nothing about the situation its private." Eamonn and Ruth announced their split last May after 14 years of marriage.

He has since moved on with girlfriend Katie Alexander, Eamonn's health issues started in 2016 when he had a double hit replacement.

After years of back issues, he had spinal surgery in 2022 however just two months later he had a fall at home. Eamonn broke his shoulder while recovering from his back surgery and needed a new operation.

The TV star then had a spine and neck procedure in 2023, but he still suffers from pain which has led him to having sleepless nights. It has been reported Eamonn has been 'wheeled in and out of the studio' where he hosts GB News Breakfast.

Earlier this year, Eamonn shared an update on his health – revealing he's still living in pain as he asked for prayers. He shared: "Even when the sun shines there's pain.

"Sometimes I feel I'll never beat this disc immobility but I'm determined to have a life ….. so pray for me, help me or get out of the way social media haters."

Despite their split, a source told OK! Magazine that his ex-wife "Ruth honestly doesn't talk about , she's really moved on from that part of her life," they said.

"But of course, she does care about him, because they share a child and they were married for a long time. She has seen that he is struggling, and it's sad to see anyone in that situation. Of course, she fears for him and doesn't want to think of Eamonn battling with his health - but she has to focus on herself and her own life now."
