Prime Video has shared details for a 'mind-bending' new thriller from Harlan Coben, announcing its release date and its first look.
Celebrated author Coben has had several of his bestselling works adapted for the screen. That includes a number of limited series for Netflix. Now it is Amazon's turn to host the latest work from the writer and his trademark twists and turns.
However, this new project, Lazarus, is not based on a previously published work but on an original story idea penned by Coben. He is co-writing alongside BAFTA-winning screenwriter Danny Brocklehurst.

Brocklehurst is the co-creator of Brassic and Ten Pound Poms. He has also worked with Coben on titles such as The Stranger, Stay Close, and Fool Me Once.
According to Amazon's synopsis, Lazarus follows Joel Lazarus, played by Peaky Blinders star Sam Claflin, who returns home after his father, Dr. Jonathan Lazarus, played by British acting legend Bill Nighy, dies and begins to have disturbing experiences that can't be explained.
He quickly becomes entangled in a series of cold-case murders as he grapples with the mystery of his father's death and his sister's murder 25 years ago.
Alexandra Roach plays Jenna Lazarus, who has buried herself in a world of spiritual practice. Now, when her brother returns home and starts experiencing unexplained phenomena, she is forced to confront secrets from her own past.
The series' additional cast includes Alexandra Roach as Jenna Lazarus, David Fynn as Seth McGovern, Karla Crome as Bella Catton, and Kate Ashfield as Detective Alison Brown.
It has been confirmed that fans won't have to wait too long before they get to find out what Lazarus is all about. It should land on the streaming platform in just a couple of months, from October 22.
Giving audiences an idea of what they should expect, it has been described by executive Producers Richard Fee and Nicola Shindler as a "propulsive mystery thriller".
Describing the project himself, Coben explained: "I thought, ‘I could write this as a novel, but I’m seeing it as a TV series.’ It’s a little more of a ghost story, very visual."
While co-writer Brocklehurst added, "A psychological thriller with an emotional spine. It’s about fathers and sons, love and loss. We have attempted to bring our trademark wit and warmth as well as twists galore.”
Claflin teased it even further, telling EW, "There are so many elements to it that kind of keep you wanting more."
Fans are already excited to binge-watch the series after Coben shared the first look images of the cast on social media. His post, which said 'mind-bending thriller coming soon,' attracted many responses, including one that commented: "All-nighter planned on 22/10/25."
Lazarus is streaming on Prime Video from October 22.
