Owning a home is a dream for many, but rising inflation and living expenses often make it seem unattainable. However, a recent story from Surat has taken social media by storm. Content creator Nalini Unagar shared that her maid purchased a 3BHK flat worth ₹60 lakh—leaving her completely shocked.
According to Nalini, her maid not only bought the flat but also spent ₹4 lakh on furniture while taking a loan of just ₹10 lakh. Nalini wrote on social media, "Today my maid was very happy. When I asked her why, she told me that she had bought a 3BHK flat in Surat for 60 lakh rupees. She also said that she had spent about 4 lakh rupees on furniture and had taken a loan of only 10 lakh rupees. I was stunned to hear her."
When Nalini asked further, she learned that her maid already owned a two-story house and a shop in Velanja village, both of which are rented out. This revelation impressed her even more. She noted, "Now I understand the real magic of smart savings. This story proves that if one uses money wisely and avoids unnecessary expenses, no dream is impossible."
Nalini’s post sparked widespread discussion online. Many praised the maid as an inspiration, while others expressed disbelief that a 3BHK flat in Surat could cost only ₹60 lakh. One user wrote, "A 3BHK flat in Surat for 60 lakh? This sounds like a fairytale." Another added, "If she really did it, it's commendable. She achieved what even many educated people struggle to."
Nalini highlighted the contrast between people who spend on cafes, branded phones, shopping, or vacations and those like her maid, who save wisely and stabilize their lives. Social media users agreed that financial understanding is often more about habits and mindset than formal education or profession.
