Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has outlined his four demands from his teammates ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The midfielder has snubbed interest from a number of Saudi Pro League outfits already this summer in favour of remaining at Old Trafford, rejecting the chance to reunite with Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr among other offers.

Instead, Fernandes is keen to guide the Red Devils back to their glory days, having been one of a few shining lights at the Theatre of Dreams last season in what was a disastrous campaign for new boss Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese international scored 19 goals and registered 18 assists in all competitions, frequently stepping up when his team needed him most to make amends for shaky performances.

Following a promising pre-season and some major investment into the squad, United will be hoping for a more fruitful campaign - and Fernandes is demanding that his teammates step up to the mark.

Speaking to ESPN Brasil, the midfielder said: "I hope you'll hear less about Bruno this year, but a lot more about United. That's my main objective because my name being spoken, let's say vaguely alone, It doesn't fill me with pride or anything.

"United being talked about, being positive, that's the most important thing and that's what I want for this season. If it happens that Bruno has to score fewer goals, provide less assists or do another type of provision of what is necessary for the games, I would be very happy."

Fernandes went on to speak about how morale is high at United heading into the new campaign, but he hopes that it isn't another 'false dawn', having seen his side struggle when the going gets tough previously. He said: "Every year that I stayed here, every time the season begins, I see this [positivity]. I believe that it could be a time of change, where we can do something better.

"Obviously, now people have joined the club, not just the players, but also staff and management, who have a different vision. I hope that all these changes and everything that we have done can bring the club back to the place where it really deserves to be."

Fernandes then laid down his final two demands from the dressing room: to improve at the both ends of the pitch as a collective. He concluded: "We have more goals in the team because we know that we didn't score enough goals last year. But we also have to know that we have to defend better so as not to suffer as many goals as we conceded last year. And when I say defend better, it's not the defenders, but as a team.

"To know how to suffer, to know how to defend, to know the moments that are necessary to have everyone behind the ball, to have everyone to make recoveries, to have everyone react quickly when we lose it."
