Whip smart comedian Sarah Millican was offered the biggest amount of prize money a celebrity has ever had a chance at winning on tonight. During her stint on the gameshow, Sarah flew through her questions, leaving her team with high hopes that they might be able to gift their chosen charities a whopping sum. , otherwise known as The Dark Destroyer, was the Chaser in charge of outsmarting all four big names who featured on the series tonight.

When the time came for him to make Sarah two offers to choose from, he went for quite a small number on the lower end, giving her the option of playing for £3,000. Much to her surprise, the higher offer was the enormous sum of £103,000.

Shaun told the contestant: "This is the highest offer I've ever made on the Celebrity Chase." Sarah looked gobsmacked by this revelation, and gasped: "No!" When she heard the exact amount she was being offered, the comedian burst into a fit of laughter.

Sadly, although Sarah did very well in her round, she was unable to beat the Chaser and went back to her teammates empty handed.

Although the celebs managed to rack up £100,000 as a potential prize, they then lost everything in the final round. Ortis Deley, Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, Graeme Hall and Sarah Millican were given two minutes to answer as many general knowledge questions as they could within two minutes.

If Shaun was able to answer more than them in his ensuing round, they would lose all the money they had managed to squirrel away earlier on in the game.

Despite the best efforts of Sarah and Ortis in particular, they were very quickly outranked by The Dark Destroyer.

However, as it was a celebrity episode of The Chase and all the money they would have won would go to charity, Bradley Walsh told the contestants they would not have to leave the show empty handed. Each player was given £1,000 which they would be able to donate to their chosen organisation.

After her first attempt to beat the Chaser and earn prize money for her team, Shaun teased Sarah for making too many jokes on the gameshow.

With an uncharacteristically big grin, he told her: "You're a very funny lady. But I do the jokes around here." The comedian sassily replied: "Sometimes. Not always."
