Noel Gallagher takes savage swipe at Royal Family during Oasis reunion tour

Noel Gallagher didn't hold back as he aimed a sly dig at the Royal Family during Oasis' historic reunion shows in Manchester and fans absolutely lapped it up.

The 58-year-old rocker, who recently buried the hatchet with his estranged brother Liam Gallagher, 52, has just wrapped up a five-night residency at Heaton Park, with each night drawing in a sold-out crowd of 80,000 ecstatic fans. For many, it was a moment they never thought they'd see again, with the Gallagher brothers sharing a stage more than a decade after their bitter 2009 split.

But amid the euphoric atmosphere, Noel made his feelings about the Royal Family clear with a typically sharp-tongued sense of humour. At the first Heaton Park show, he delivered a heartfelt tribute to the late Caroline Aherne, dedicating Half The World Away, famously used as the theme to The Royle Family, to the now deceased actress.

By Sunday night, though, Noel added a barbed twist to the dedication. Taking to the mic ahead of the iconic track, he told the crowd: "This one, for the Royal Family..." The audience cheered - but then Noel delivered the punchline: "Not that f***ing Royal Family! The real Royle Family."

The cheeky remark sent fans into meltdown, and the clip has since been widely shared across TikTok and other platforms, with many praising Noel's brutal wit.

"I don't hate the Queen or none of them; they were all born into it," he added.

Meanwhile, Liam had his own viral moment during the shows, poking fun at the now-infamous clip of Coldplay's Chris Martin appearing to catch two corporate execs Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, and HR head Kristin Cabot in a passionate embrace on camera.

Liam quipped: "This one's for all you love birds... Don't worry, we don't have a camera, it's not a Coldplay moment."He then added with typical Gallagher swagger:"It's none of our business who you're with - doesn't matter who you're tingling with, mingling with and f*ing with," before launching into the Oasis classic Slide Away.

The Heaton Park shows were sparked by a simple but seismic post on social media back in August 2024, where the brothers finally hinted at putting their feud behind them. What followed was one of the most highly anticipated UK gigs of all time, with fans from around the world descending on Manchester to witness music history in the making.
