A royal expert has praised two of 's rarely seen family members who she believes is the key reason to the royal's success. While Kate, 43, is a future Queen in the making, she has only been a member of the for 14 years after marrying Prince William in 2011. While Kate appears to have taken to her royal role naturally in that time, as shown by her appearance alongside William in Scotland this week, The Princess of Wales was not brought up in royal circles, and instead lived a fairly ordinary life.

Having been raised by her parents Carole and Michael Middleton, alongside her two siblings, Kate remains very close to her family, with expert Bev Turner believing they play a major role in the princess' success. This is despite the fact they are very much a support system behind-the-scenes rather than on the royal stage.

Talking about Princess Kate, "I think the key to her success, and they don't get anywhere near enough credit, are her parents. I think they've raised her so well, and I think they are phenomenal grandparents to those children.

"And I think they're probably superb in-laws as well. She [Carole] managed to make a multi-million pound fortune without the help of anybody, whilst also staying rather in the background.

"They don't push themselves, they don't do red carpets, they don't do interviews - I think they're wonderful."

Apart from attending major royal events, Carole and Michael Middleton live a very normal life away from the royal stage, despite the fact their daughter will one day be a Queen.

They are believed to spend a lot of time with Kate, her husband Prince William, 42, and their three children Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, seven. This includes family holidays and regular days spent together, with the families living just a short distance apart.

Carole and Michael are also believed to be very doting grandparents to their royal grandchildren, and

This was especially the case last year when Kate was undergoing treatment for cancer. At the time, a friend of the family told : "Carole has been the driving force keeping the family together with minimum fuss and maximum modesty.

"She's ferried and fetched George, Louis and Charlotte, taken them to school sports matches and given them endless support. She's been a real Mary Poppins-like figure."
