A couple took a trip to the second least visited country in Europe and they were in awe.

Some people wouldn't like to go for a holiday somewhere which isn't well-visited as they might assume it's not the nicest place to go if there aren't many tourists there. Europe has plenty of cities and islands that are popular for tourism, including Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Amsterdam and Santorini in Greece.

However, travel vloggers Chris and Reanna are on a mission to seek out Europe's most underrated destinations. The pair have travelled to 50 countries together but have become "tired of going to the same places as everyone else and fighting off the crowds".

Due to this, they have decided to find some of the least visited countries in Europe they think are well worth visiting, despite the lack of tourists. In a recent video on TikTok, the couple shared their experience travelling to Liechtenstein, the fourth smallest country in Europe with a population of 39,850, according to the latest figures.

Liechtenstein is a German-speaking country located between Austria and Switzerland. In the TikTok clip Reanna said: "It might be tiny but it's packed with fairy tale castles, some of the most gorgeous lakes you've ever seen and incredible mountain views."

The travel fan advised you can easily visit Liechtenstein as a day trip from Switzerland but recommended staying in the country for at least one night to see the "stunning" Stausee Steg lake at sunrise.

She also recommended visiting Gutenberg Castle where you can "admire the incredible views over the country". Reanna further suggested taking a trip to Vaduz, the capital of Lichtenstein and the home of the prince, Hans-Adam II.

The Liechtenstein royal family lives in Vaduz Castle, which is on a hillside overlooking the city and dates back to the 12th century. It is a medieval castle and while it's not open to the public, it is a prominent landmark that can be accessed by a walking path and tourists can enjoy the views from the top of the hill.

According to Tripadvisor, Vaduz has a car-free centre so tourists can walk around freely. Liechtenstein is known for its beautiful alpine scenery, particularly the mountains, making it a popular destination for winter sports like skiing.

Malbun is a ski resort village in Liechtenstein that attracts winter sports fans. The small European country also has several museums and art galleries.

Chris and Reanna's TikTok video showing the beauty of Liechtenstein has racked up 27,300 views, more than 1,000 likes and a number of comments so far. One user said: "Adding to my bucket list."
