Minor among four arrested for robbery near Simrol

Indore: Simrol police have arrested four people, who robbed a man of cash and mobile phone while he was on his way home from a secluded spot, on Saturday.

ASP Rupesh Dwivedi said police received a complaint from one Rakesh that around 7:30 pm, while on his way to duty at Pump House No. 3, he was intercepted near Roshia Dargah by four individuals riding a two-wheeler and a black motorcycle without a registration number. They assaulted him, and one of them, wearing a black T-shirt, threatened him with a knife pressed against his abdomen. They robbed him of his mobile phone, a black wallet containing his Aadhaar card, the registration card of his motorcycle, voter ID card, Rs 1000 in cash, and a bag before fleeing towards Indore.

Following the report, a case was registered at Simrol police station under relevant sections. Rural SP Hitika Vasal immediately directed for formation of special teams to apprehend the accused.

The team began collecting intelligence and analysing profiles of known offenders involved in theft, robbery, and burglary in the region. Informants were activated and surveillance was intensified.

On April 4, based on intelligence inputs, police identified and located the suspects. When the team attempted to arrest them, the accused tried to flee, but were successfully caught.

The arrested accused were identified as Sujal (22), Mayank (24), Kunal alias Nakul (24) and 16-year-old minor. During questioning, all four confessed to committing the robbery near Ratibi Road. The police recovered the stolen mobile phone, two motorcycles used in the crime, and a knife.
