Cheryl Burke, the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ alum, recently opened up about body dysmorphia and her insecurities she faced throughout the years, amid the massive scrutiny about her appearances. Pointing out that she has always been a target of public opinion, the 41-year-old has decided to speak up against the rumours of Ozempic and cosmetic surgeries.
“I do suffer from body dysmorphia.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the reality star said, “I do suffer from body dysmorphia.” Ever since she used to dance in front of the mirrors as a little girl, which was a long time before she starred in the performing arts reality show, she has faced the issues.
“In the height of my insecurity and my body dysmorphia was weekly fittings on the show. And I don't blame the show by any means—it's just the name of the game,” she said before adding, “We're squeezing into these costumes, but it would affect me to the point where I would weigh myself constantly. I would travel with a scale—like that's crazy.”
“People change, people evolve”
Mentioning that Burke has always been in the limelight since she was on the show 20 years ago, she stated, “People change, people evolve” throughout a very long period. After disengaging from the show, where she wasn’t compared to other dancers, didn’t have to do any fittings, or didn’t have to weigh on the scales, Cheryl has had a normal eating schedule, as there is no pressure. “I don't even know who that girl is, in that sense, right? That constant self-hate; it was just not healthy,” she added.

Cheryl Burke chooses herself...
“Now I have to choose myself, I have to choose to be healthy. And it is something that I put as my number one priority, and maybe this is why I'm not dating—I'm really focusing on me and feeling good, first from within, and then whatever follows, follows,” Cheryl concluded in speaking her mind.
