Home runs form an important statistic when a player’s performance is evaluated. Players compete to score as many home runs as possible and, at times, are awarded incentives for the same. The best home run record winner is Barry Bonds, who hit 73 home runs in the 2001 season alone. Following his path are some Houston Astros players whose home run count in a single season has been exemplary.
Let’s look at the top 5 Astros players who delivered maximum home runs in a single season, according to StatMuse’s data.
Jeff Bagwell tops Astros players with 449 home runs
Jeff Bagwell leads the pack of Houston Astros players with the most home runs in a single season. He hit the most home runs in a single season, not once or twice, but seven times. The Astros’ Hall of Famer was just three home runs shy of the coveted 50 in 2000. His total career home runs are 449.
