NEW DELHI: Defence minister Rajnath Singh hailed the " Operation Sindoor " launched by Indian Army against terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
"Bharat Mata ki Jai (Victory to Mother India)," he said in a post on X.
The operation was launched in retaliation to Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26.
Indian military forces launched strikes at nine sites in Pakistan calling it "focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature."
"A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'OPERATION SINDOOR', hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed," the central government said in a press statement.
"Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution," it added.
