NEW DELHI: A Delhi Police team interrogated former trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar for around eight hours on Friday regarding allegations that she forged a disability certificate and other documents to clear the 2022 Union Public Service Commission exam. "I filed an affidavit in Supreme Court stating that I would fully cooperate with police and the court. The court ordered that my statement be recorded. Accordingly, I appeared for questioning ," she told reporters later.
Khedkar stands accused of writing the UPSC exams 12 times under different identities until she made it to the merit list under the quota for people with benchmark disabilities. " Misinformation is being spread by the media and govt officials. Allegations about appearing for the exam multiple times, name changes, and submitting a false certificate are all false," she said.
"Even Maharashtra CM has included his mother's name in his own. Since when has adding your mother's name become a crime in our country? I am shocked by these accusations. The claim that I changed my name multiple times is completely untrue."
Last year, police had received a complaint from UPSC against Khedkar, accusing her of multiple offences, including forgery and impersonation.
