GADAG: A 24-year-old woman married for four months ended her life in Karnataka's Gadag district after her in-laws allegedly targeted her for complexion, reports Sangamesh Menasinakai.
The deceased Pooja Ayyanagoudar was married to Amaresh, who works with a private company in Shahapur. "According to the complaint filed by Pooja's parents on Saturday, her mother-in-law Shashikala and husband's elder brother Veeranagouda harassed her saying she was dark skinned," superintendent of police BS Nemagouda said. She died by hanging herself at her in-laws' house in Betgeri-Gadag on April 15.
Shashikala and Veeranagouda have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.
