The Anti-Economic Crimes Department at Dubai Police ’s General Department of Criminal Investigation, in cooperation with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), has arrested a man for practising medicine without a licence by conducting hair transplant procedures inside his residential apartment, putting clients’ lives at risk and violating the country’s laws.
According to Dubai Police, the arrest of the suspect followed thorough investigations into his activities, carried out in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority. The man had also been promoting his illegal services by sharing videos of the procedures on a dedicated social media account.
The Anti-Economic Crimes team raided the apartment where he was operating and discovered it was a three-bedroom flat, with two rooms used for family living and the third converted into a makeshift medical clinic. The room was being used to perform operations without complying with the required health and safety standards.
Police officers found medical devices and instruments used in hair transplant procedures, along with various chemicals and solutions such as anaesthetics and disinfectants. Legal action has been taken against the suspect, the apartment has been closed, and all medical materials have been confiscated.
Dubai Police urges community members to only seek services at licensed medical clinics and facilities, and to verify the qualifications and experience of healthcare and cosmetic providers. They warned against falling for misleading offers that could endanger lives, affirming their commitment to safeguarding the security, health, and well-being of society.
The public is also encouraged to immediately report any similar illegal activities through Dubai Police’s various communication channels.
